Victrix Plastic Napoleonics

I decided to buy a box of these figure to try out.  For wargmers they certainly seem to be a godsend....50+ figures, including command and some very nice flags......for ?20.  As a painter I simply want to see how they come up against metal figures.  First impressions are that they do seem well detailed for plastic, just not quite as good as GW plastic stuff.  Certainly good scope for conversion work....I have always fancied doing a depiction of the closing of the gates at Hougoment during the battle of Waterloo.

Some of the figures do have quite a lot of flash on them though, not looking forward to trimming them down.  The metal command figures do look very nice, I purchased the colonels pair and also received a free sapper figure.  This, in particular, looks a fine piece and an unusual subject.

Overall, first impression of the figures is good and am looking forward to painting some up eventually!

Over the coming weeks I hope to get to grips with these figures and post my thoughts on them. I plan to just do a couple to familiarise myself with cutting and glueing plastic, and will post a few pics as I go. Please do come back and see if any progress has been made!!
