Hi PHilip. Thanks for visiting the site. For dapples I tend to use a light grey onto a mid grey followed by a thin wash of the light grey to blend the whole together a bit. Hope that helps. HB

Your painting is so good it makes me want to cry! I wish I had half your skill. I'd love to know how you paint the dappled grey/white horses. I've attempted to get the spots right but they never look natural. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

@Harry...thanks for looking at the site. Although I do prefer historical subjects, the occasional fantasy figure lets me play with different colours. Also there are some non-historical figures that just catch my eye and shout "buy me"!
